Jasper AI alternatives (2026)
The short answer: Jasper is a marketing suite, campaigns, brand voice, images, translation and GEO, sold mainly to marketing teams at larger companies. Most alternatives replace one slice of it. For short marketing and sales copy, Copy.ai or Anyword. For SEO articles, Writesonic, Koala AI or Frase. For enterprise brand governance, Writer. For agencies ranking client websites, with a person approving every publish and the option to self-host, AltoRank. Eight tools below, each with its price and the job it wins.

Is there anything better than Jasper?
For the whole bundle, not really. Jasper covers campaigns, personalisation, brand voice, image pipelines, translation, GEO reports and enterprise controls such as SSO with SAML 2.0 and an AI audit log. A marketing team that uses most of that will not find one tool below that replaces it.
Most people searching for an alternative use a fraction of it. If you mainly write SEO articles, the tools built around search do that job more directly and several cost less. If you mainly write short copy, Copy.ai and Anyword are more focused. And of the tools on this page, only AltoRank lets you read the code or run it on your own infrastructure.
So "better than Jasper" depends on which slice of it you are actually paying for.
The eight alternatives
1. AltoRank: search content for a client roster
Ours, so read the rest of the page before weighing this. AltoRank starts from a site: it crawls it, builds a business and voice profile from what is published, researches the questions buyers search, and drafts in that voice with sources attached. Every publish is attributed to a person, a click or a rule they set. It does not do images, translation, ads copy or campaigns. Open source under AGPL-3.0, free to self-host, €69/mo managed for 100 articles or €199/mo on Agency for unlimited client workspaces and 400 articles. Pick it if ranking websites is the job. Skip it if you need the marketing suite.
2. Copy.ai: copy, then workflows
The alternative most roundups list first, and the one nearest Jasper's origins in short-form copy. The Chat plan is $29/mo billed monthly for 5 seats with unlimited words in chat and unlimited chat projects. Beyond that, Copy.ai sells workflow automation on credits, where a credit is compute for one step and the price is scoped with their team rather than published. Read from copy.ai/prices on 25 September 2026. Strong for sales-led teams; less so for long-form search content.
3. Writesonic: SEO articles plus AI visibility
Now sold as an AI search visibility platform with an article writer attached. Three published tiers, billed annually, at $79, $199 and $399 a month: 15, 25 and 50 AI articles a month, 1, 2 and 3 users, with brand tracking across ChatGPT, Gemini and Google AI Overviews and site audits; Enterprise custom. Free trial, no card. Read from writesonic.com/pricing on 25 September 2026. The pick if AI visibility is what you are buying and articles are the fix.
4. Koala AI: long-form at the lowest price here
Built for long-form SEO and affiliate articles. Starter $25/mo for 45,000 words, Professional $49/mo for 100,000 words with an article editor and SEO score, Boost $99/mo for 250,000 words, Elite $179/mo for 500,000, each with a monthly credit allowance for research. It also has an MCP server in beta on Professional and up, so an AI assistant can run keyword and SERP research on those credits. Start free, no card. Read from koala.sh/pricing on 25 September 2026. The cheapest way on this page to get a lot of articles written.
5. Anyword: copy scored for performance
Aimed at marketers who want copy backed by predicted-performance data. Starter is $49/mo for one seat, a second tier $99/mo for three seats, and Enterprise custom with SSO and enterprise security. A 7-day free trial. Read from anyword.com/pricing on 25 September 2026. A closer fit for ads, landing pages and email than for long-form search articles.
6. Writer: enterprise brand governance
The enterprise-facing option: brand rules, team playbooks and cross-team workflows. Starter covers up to 5 users with one team personality profile and a 14-day free trial with no card; Enterprise is by sales, for unlimited users and cross-team workflows. The Starter price did not show to a plain read of writer.com/pricing on 25 September 2026. Compare with Jasper Business if governance and SSO are why you are shopping.
7. Frase: briefs, drafts and publishing in one
The most complete search-content alternative. Starter $39/mo billed yearly for one seat, one site and 10 articles; Professional $103/mo yearly for 3 seats, 5 sites and 40 articles; Scale $239/mo yearly for 5 seats, 10 domains and 100 articles with client reports. AI visibility tracking, CMS publishing and an MCP server and CLI on every plan. A 7-day trial with no card. Read from frase.io/pricing on 25 September 2026. The nearest thing on this page to AltoRank; the difference is that Frase's agent can publish on its own, and AltoRank attributes every publish to a person.
8. Surfer: a score to write against
Not a writer so much as an editor: it scores a draft against what is ranking and tracks the page afterwards, and now tracks AI visibility too. From €49/mo billed yearly, with Standard at €99. Read from surferseo.com/pricing on 20 September 2026. The right pairing if your team keeps writing and wants a target.
Surfer has its own roundup of alternatives, with Clearscope, NeuronWriter, MarketMuse and others.

AltoRank and Jasper side by side
When Jasper is the better choice
If you need images, translation and campaign tooling in one place, keep Jasper. Those are first-class there and AltoRank does none of them.
The same if procurement is the gate. Jasper Business carries SSO with SAML 2.0 across Okta, Azure AD and Google Workspace, role-based access control and an in-app AI audit log. AltoRank has none of that yet, and a security review will ask.
Common questions
What is the best Jasper AI alternative?
It depends on what you used Jasper for. For short marketing and sales copy, Copy.ai and Anyword. For SEO articles, Writesonic, Koala AI or Frase. For enterprise brand governance, Writer. For agencies ranking client websites, with a person approving every publish and the option to self-host, AltoRank. Jasper is a whole marketing suite; most alternatives replace one slice of it.
Is there a cheaper alternative to Jasper?
Yes. Read from each vendor's own pricing page on 25 September 2026: Koala AI starts at $25/mo, Copy.ai's Chat plan at $29/mo billed monthly, Frase at $39/mo billed yearly and Anyword at $49/mo, against Jasper Pro at $59/mo billed yearly or $69 monthly. AltoRank is free to self-host, or €69/mo managed with model and search-data costs included.
How much does Jasper cost?
Read from jasper.ai/pricing on 20 September 2026: Pro is $59/month billed yearly, or $69/month billed monthly. Business is custom pricing. Some usage-based features, including GEO Hub reports and Agents, run on credits that sit alongside seat pricing on Business. Check their page before quoting it.
Which Jasper alternative is best for SEO content?
The ones built around search rather than general copy: Writesonic (15 to 50 AI articles a month plus AI visibility tracking), Koala AI (45,000 to 500,000 words a month, with an SEO score from Professional up), Frase, and AltoRank. Surfer is the right add-on if your writers already draft and want a score to write against.
Is AltoRank a full Jasper replacement?
No, and it would be dishonest to claim it. Jasper does images, translation, campaign workflows, personalisation and enterprise governance. AltoRank does search content for a website: what to write, a draft with sources, an approval step, and publishing. If you use Jasper for the whole marketing function, this replaces one slice of it.
Is AltoRank really open source?
Yes, AGPL-3.0, covering the whole product: multi-client workspaces, white-label reporting, the approval gate and the scoring. There is no ee/ directory and no tier held back from the source. The repository is public at github.com/AltoRank/altorank and the MCP server is in the official registry as co.altorank/altorank.
See your site the way an assistant does
Good copy only matters once a page can be read. The free check reads your homepage, robots.txt, sitemap.xml and llms.txt and tells you, line by line, what is missing.
Nine checks on the homepage, robots.txt, sitemap.xml and llms.txt. No account, no email gate, and a link you can share. The scoring is in the open-source code, so it can be read rather than trusted.
