Ad copy generator: variations written for the platform you run on.
Describe the product, who it is for, and choose Google Ads, Meta or LinkedIn. You get ad copy variations shaped to that platform's format, as drafts to check against your landing page and the platform's policies.

Ad copy generator
Runs on our server. Your text is sent to Anthropic's Claude to write the result. We count runs and never save what you enter; an identical request may be answered from memory for up to five minutes.
What you can do with it
- Fill the headline and description slots of a Google responsive search ad
- Draft several versions of a Meta or LinkedIn ad to test against each other
- Rewrite an ad that promises something the landing page does not show
- Get a first draft for a new product before you have performance data
How it works, step by step
- 1
Pick one message per ad
Decide the single reason this person should click: a price, a feature, a problem solved, a deadline. An ad that tries to say everything reads as noise. If you have three messages, write three ads and let the results tell you which works.
- 2
Write the landing page's promise into the ad
The ad and the page it links to should say the same thing. If the ad says 'same-day delivery in Leeds', that line should be visible on the page without scrolling. A mismatch wastes the click you paid for.
- 3
Write to the platform's format
Google search ads are assembled from short headlines and descriptions with hard character limits. Meta and LinkedIn show a primary text that gets cut off in the feed, so the first line must work on its own.
- 4
Remove claims you cannot prove
'Best', 'number one', 'guaranteed results' and invented numbers invite disapproval and mislead people. Keep claims you can support on the landing page, and state them plainly.
- 5
Launch variations, not a single ad
Write several versions that differ in one thing: the message, the hook or the call to action. Let performance data decide, and retire the losers.
One ad, one message
An ad gets a moment of attention between other results or other posts. In that moment it can land one idea. Pick it before you write: the thing about your product that matters most to this audience. “Payroll for teams under 20, set up in an afternoon” is one message. “Payroll, HR, benefits, compliance and more” is a list nobody reads.
If you cannot choose, write an ad for each message and run them side by side. The platform will show you which one people respond to, which is better evidence than any copywriting rule.
Writing to each platform
Google responsive search ads. You write the parts and Google assembles the ad. Headlines can be up to 30 characters and descriptions up to 90 characters, with up to 15 headlines and 4 descriptions per ad. Because Google mixes them, every headline has to work next to any other. Write a mix: some that repeat the search term, some that state a benefit, some that give a reason to act now. Avoid headlines that only make sense in sequence.
Meta (Facebook and Instagram). The primary text sits above the image or video and gets cut off in the feed, with the rest behind a ‘see more’ link. Where it cuts varies with placement and device, so do not rely on a character count. Put the whole message in the first line. The visual does much of the work here; the text should add the reason to act.
LinkedIn. The intro text also truncates in the feed. Readers are there in a work frame of mind, so name the role or the business problem early. Plain, specific copy tends to read better here than consumer-style hype.
Match the landing page
The ad makes a promise and the landing page has to keep it in the first screen. If the ad mentions a price, the page shows that price. If it mentions a feature, the page leads with it. A mismatch costs you the click and often the conversion. On search ads, the relevance between ad and page also feeds into how Google judges the ad, so it can affect what you pay.
Policy and honesty
Every platform restricts misleading claims. Superlatives you cannot support, guarantees of results, and figures you cannot back up are the usual reasons ads get rejected, and they erode trust even when they slip through. Some categories, such as health, finance and employment, have extra rules. Read the platform’s policy for your category before you launch.
What the generator does
It sends your product description, optional audience and chosen platform to Claude Haiku, a fast Anthropic model, and returns ad copy variations written for that platform’s format. It does not see your landing page, check claims or review policies. Your ad account is the final check on character limits, so count Google headlines and descriptions before you paste them in.
AltoRank works on the organic side: it plans and drafts SEO content for a site every week, and a person approves each piece before it publishes.
Frequently asked questions
What are the character limits for Google responsive search ads?
Headlines can be up to 30 characters and descriptions up to 90 characters. You can supply up to 15 headlines and 4 descriptions, and Google combines them into ads. Because any headline can appear next to any other, each one should make sense on its own.
How long should Meta and LinkedIn ad text be?
Both platforms truncate long text in the feed and show a 'see more' link, and the point where it cuts depends on the placement and the device. Rather than writing to a character count, make sure the first line carries the whole message, and treat everything after it as detail for the people who expand it.
Will the copy pass ad review?
The generator does not check platform policies, and it cannot know whether a claim is true of your product. Review each variation against the platform's advertising policies before you publish it, especially anything about health, finance, results or pricing.
Does the generator know my landing page?
No. It works from the product description you paste. It does not visit your site, so it cannot match the ad to your page for you. Put the landing page's main promise in the description if you want the variations to follow it.
Can I paste the variations straight into my ad account?
Treat them as drafts. Check each one for accuracy, for the character limits the platform enforces and for policy, then edit them into your voice. A fast model writes them from a short description, so it can overstate what the product does.
What happens to what I enter?
Your product description, audience and platform choice go to our server and to Anthropic's Claude, a fast model, which writes the variations. We count how many times the tool runs each day and never save what you enter; an identical request may be answered from memory for up to five minutes. There is a daily usage limit so the tool can stay free without a signup.
