Where they actually differ

RankPill wins two of these outright. Saying so is more useful than pretending otherwise.
It is the product they sell: "Fully Autonomous", one article a day, no review step. AltoRank does it too when you turn it on: each draft is emailed to you and ships after a 24-hour hold unless you hold it, after the same sourcing and audit checks a click runs, and recorded under the person who set the rule.
Their exchange has customers in it and ours has few counterparties yet. Read their reviews on how many links arrive before deciding what that is worth.
Nothing reaches a live site without a person approving that specific draft, and every draft carries a fact-check verdict before you open it.
There is no trial. Nothing is charged until you choose a plan, and cancelling is a button on the billing page. Your articles stay readable afterwards.
Open source, the whole product, including the scoring. With a closed tool a disagreement about a score is a matter of vendor faith.
Self-hosting is free and complete. RankPill does not offer it.

Their pricing page does not state one. Their Trustpilot reviews describe a "$1 for 3 days" trial that charges the full plan on day three, and the most common one-star review is that charge. AltoRank has no trial at all: nothing is charged until you pick a plan.
What is RankPill's "free personalized growth plan"?

Does AltoRank have a backlink exchange too?
Yes. The difference is who acts: in AltoRank the software proposes matches and scores relevance, but a person accepts, places and verifies each link before any credit moves. It is also small; we are early and would rather say so than sell a network that is not there yet.
